Obama Knows Best

Key Word Is "Hostility"
There are many dictionaries so OK, let's define "HOSTILITY" using them:

Hostility

• enmity or antagonism


• (Military) (plural) fighting; warfare


• a hostile state, condition, or attitude; enmity; antagonism; unfriendliness.


• conflict, opposition, or resistance in thought or principle

OK, that takes care of THAT definition. So how about "WAR"?
War

• a state of usually open and declared armed hostile conflict between states or nations


• a struggle or competition between opposing forces or for a particular end


• A state of armed conflict between different nations or states or different groups within a nation or state.


• a conflict carried on by force of arms, as between nations or between parties within a nation; warfare, as by land, sea, or air.
  

Get the idea? If you're bombing from the air and killing men, women, and children (like in Libya), you are at WAR. That is not unlike the definition of "hostility" in the military sense. When you use airplanes or when you fire 112 American missiles into Libya, you are at WAR with them!

Obama Rejected This Idea
According to the New York Times, (NYT), Obama ""rejected the views of his top lawyers at the Pentagon and the Justice Department when he decided that he had the legal authority to continue military participation in the air war with Libya without Congressional approval". Instead of following their advice, Obama took the view that the Libyan "campaign" was not covered by the War Powers Act. WOW!

Congressman John Boehner (R, OH) and Speaker of the House, said "The administration gave its opinion on the War Powers Resolution, but it didn’t answer the questions in my letter as to whether the Office of Legal Counsel agrees with them,” he said. “The White House says there are no hostilities taking place. Yet we’ve got drone attacks under way. We’re spending $10 million a day. We’re part of an effort to drop bombs on Qaddafi’s compounds. It just doesn’t pass the straight-face test, in my view, that we’re not in the midst of hostilities."

Obama disagrees
Of Course! Obama holds on the theory that American forces have NOT been in "hostilities" as described in the War Powers Act because NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) took control of the operation. (If this is true, then this also is a direct violation of the US Constitution because our military is NOT pledged under oath to anyone but the USA). He thinks that it's OK for the USA to assume a "supporting role" even though we still BOMB and send drones (unpiloted bombs) to attack Libyan targets. Obama also maintains that because there are no troops on the ground, Libyan forces are unable to fire at them meaningfully and that the military mission is "constrained" from escalating by the United Nations National Security Council.

It's All Blather!
Do you believe this CRAP? Is it any wonder why Congress has filed a lawsuit against the President? He has overstepped his authority and totally IGNORED the Congress. He deliberately broke the law with HIS decision. He went against his top legal authorities who took the opposite position.

He should be held accountable for his ILLEGAL actions. If these decisions and behavior do not constitute high crimes and misdemeanours then what does? This is an impeachable offense! After the courts rule, Obama should be impeached for violating his oath of office and for ignoring the law of the land!
