Tracking You
Most people are aware that Google now tracks your every search on the Internet. They capture as much information about you and your search preferences as they can in hopes of satisfying their advertisers. The advertisers in-turn receive benefits because Google places "convenient" links to advertiser's web sites.
Only God knows what they do with the rest of the information that Google "collects" about you or how long they store it for retrieval later down the road.
Is he implying that Google may be in cahoots with the government? Let's just say that they are in China because this is a known fact (Google censor's the Internet searches in China), so why not be in collusion with the US government as well?
Ridiculous?
Now don't jump to conclusions. Google isn't censoring you! However, they might be reporting what your searches are and how often you do them to the Federal government. In a recent report from the Department of Homeland Security, anyone who owns MREs (meals ready to eat) or has a two weeks food supply stored, they are a potential "Terrorist." Big Sis thinks that the government should be watchful of anyone who stores MREs - especially "Preppers" or members of the Tea Party!
What's a Prepper?
A Prepper is anyone who believes that there may be some catastrophic event that may cause a disruption in the social or political order. This could be man-made or a natural disaster similar to Hurricane Katrina. They are also referred to as "Survivalists." Preppers often have stockpiles of food and water as well as emergency medical supplies. It is estimated that approximately 25% of Americans are Preppers of some kind. Their motto mimics the Boy Scouts as "Be Prepared."
Back to Google
So we know that Google cooperated with the Chinese government to censor Internet searches. We also know that Google is probably cooperating with the Federal Government as well. What you should also be aware of is that back in 2006, Google acquired YouTube. This is a GREAT Internet resource that contains all sorts of information, videos, and the like. It's not hard to imaging that Google ALSO Tracks what you watch or want more information about on YouTube.
Word To The Wise
As great as these Internet tools are you should be careful how you use them. As innocent as you may be, your actions could be perceived by the "Wrong Individuals to be that of a "Terrorist."
It's also fair to say that more than likely, your YouTube activities are also being "Monitored" by Homeland Security. They themselves admitted recently that they are watching the usage of the "social media."
Side Note
We stopped using Google as our search engine quite some time ago. However, we still enjoy YouTube, but do so understanding the content stated in this article. Why put yourself on a government watch list?
