Rasmussen Polls indicate several negative trends, as follows:

• 51% fear that the government won't help the economy. 64% want spending cuts.
• 45% are not confident in the US banking system. 48% are.
• 32% say that the economy is getting BETTER. 42% say it's getting worse. 
• 22% see more gun control as the best way to stop mass murders.
• 40% think energy legislation is likely to reduce Global Warming.
• 46% say the deficit should be reduced by spending cuts.
