Learn From Your Mistakes
Back in the 1930s there were no restrictions as to how many terms a person could run for re-election. As a result, FDR (Franklin D. Roosevelt) took advantage of this by running - and being elected four consecutive times. If he would have lived, he would have been President for 16 years!
After he died and Harry Truman became President, and there was a change of thought about unlimited terms in the Presidency. Congress decided that two terms would suffice. In essence, they did NOT want to repeat what Roosevelt did. So they passed the 22nd Amendment in 1947. However, it needed 2/3 of the states to ratify this change. It wasn't until February 27, 1951 when the Constitutional Amendment finally became the law of the land. It took that long, but it did pass as an amendment. Since that time, all succeeding Presidents are only allowed two terms in office.
However, one of the most important things STILL missing from a President's prerequisites is that of a background check. Think about it. We wouldn't have Barack Hussein Obama in the White House today if the Congress had to perform an in-depth look at his background, his association with known terrorists, friendships with Communists, and other radicals. If there was a mandatory background check in place, Obama would never have made the first cut for the office. In fact, if Obama had to work in any government agency he wouldn't pass ANY background check because of his past activities and acquaintances. How could we elect this man to become the most powerful man in this hemisphere without a background check? Obviously, the STATIST MEDIA (who loves Obama) didn't perform due diligence. We let them overlook it. That's our fault America.
Hey, even the government forces people to undergo mandatory background checks all the time. One current example is a background check in order to buy a firearm. The government also requires serious background checks for people to work at many government agencies, or bureaus. TOP SECRET Clearances are required in many government positions. Obama would NEVER qualify for a TOP SECRET Clearance for any of those agencies or departments.
Ironically, this is NOT a requirement to become the President. Why not? Doesn't this make sense? Shouldn't the person who will become the President and have control over the armed forces - including our nuclear arsenal, have the same background checks required as a condition of employment?
Today, they don't. This is not only STUPID, but INSANE. Look what it has given us today?
We should learn from our mistakes.
Action To Take
Let your representatives know that you want mandatory background checks performed as a prerequisite to become President of the United States. Let the respective candidates pay for it!
