HealthCare Passage Eminent

With another arbitrary White House deadline looming, the US Senate is working overtime to stuff ObamaCare through the Senate. Harry Reid just blocked any further discussions. So a vote is expected soon.

Now that the DEMs have extorted/bribed the remaining two votes required to beat a filibuster, they are ready to pass a one party bill that will cost American familes (under age 30) $3, 341 per year! Oh, don’t forget that if you want free abortions, that’s OK. Illegal alien? No problem. However, if you are a woman under age 50 and want a mammogram, forget it!

Instead of trying to resolve the healthcare issue, once and for all, Congress decided to be reckless again and ram through a partisan vote just before Christmas. Frankly, Congress does not know what’s in the bill, not that they are bothering to pretend to even care. All this despite the fact that the majority of Americans do NOT want a government controlled health care system.

The secretive way this bill was produced helped to make it destructively unpopular. Americans now realize that this legislation will permanently expand the entitlement state. Congress’s only intent was to pass anything and try and clean it up later. Why the panic?

This legislation is supposed to reduce healthcare costs. Everyone doubts this. Insurance costs will rise for everyone in small businesses to families. Can we afford it just now in this economy? The truth is that no one really knows how much ObamaCare will actually cost. It won’t be cheap.

Does it eliminate waste? The answer is no. Does it address lawsuits? No again. There is no tort reform in the bill. Does it help or hurt any individual group of citizens. Answer: Yes, it takes $500 billion away from Medicare. Senior citizens pay the brunt to offset the costs of adding new individuals.

A centralized system means fewer choices for all involved. Ironically, Congress is not required to participate. Go figure? It must be really great if they don’t want to participate. So instead of actually solving the healthcare problem, we will have a vast expansion of federal control over our lives. This is a precedent. Never before has economic legislation of this magnitude been forced through on a purely partisan vote. America will be paying for this for decades to come. Merry Christmas!
