Time for Committment

Ok, we're almost through the holidays and it's time to make a New Year's Resolution. It's easy to forget just where we stand in America when our attention is directed in 20 different directions at the same time.

OK you say, you're only one person. That's exactly why you need to make the comittment to do something positive in 2010. Please don't stay distracted. Take a moment to make the plunge. There IS power in numbers!

Remember it's all about priorities. That's what life is - a series of priorities. Time for work, time for kids, time for wife and family...

Now it's time for America. This needs to be "bumped" higher on YOUR priority list. You need to join a Tea Party or a 912 Project in your local area. Did you know that 41% of Americans have a favorable view of the Tea Party? Only 24% view Tea Party activists unfavorably. Ironically, 45% hold strong negative views towards the Democrats!

Tea Party activists helped play a role in getting rid of Governor Jon Corzine in the Democratic stronghold of New Jersey. They came within 1 percentage point of electing a third party candidate in New York's 23rd district and helped Bob McDonnell win. So don't say you can't make a difference.

Congressional elections are 10 months away. Their primaries begin early this spring. It is time to act. Be a Patriot and start fighting for the return of YOUR country.

Action To Take
Google Tea Party or 912 Project. Locate one in your area. Contact them or register with them online. Volunteer your time and services. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Disgruntled Congress

Both DEMs and GOPs are getting grumpy with the healthcare schedule. It seems that OUR (we use that term lightly) representatives can’t wait to leave DC. Unfortunately, the vote is re-scheduled for 8:00 am tomorrow morning. That’s 11 hours earlier than originally scheduled.

This schedule change allows US Senators to join their families just before Christmas. Remember, that the “deadline” was purely artificial to begin with. The REAL reason for it was to get ObamaCare jammed through before any of the 60 Democratic votes cave under pressure from home constituents. The reason for the deadline ensures that the vote will take place before anyone gets cold feet and flips their vote.

To show how made-up this is, this is the first time since 1963 when the chamber met to consider funding for funding the Vietnam War.

This act does not take into consideration what the American public at large wants. When passed everyone will be forced into buying health insurance. Since when can the government tell you to buy anything? What’s keeping Congress from tell you to buy a Chevy?

HealthCare Passage Eminent

With another arbitrary White House deadline looming, the US Senate is working overtime to stuff ObamaCare through the Senate. Harry Reid just blocked any further discussions. So a vote is expected soon.

Now that the DEMs have extorted/bribed the remaining two votes required to beat a filibuster, they are ready to pass a one party bill that will cost American familes (under age 30) $3, 341 per year! Oh, don’t forget that if you want free abortions, that’s OK. Illegal alien? No problem. However, if you are a woman under age 50 and want a mammogram, forget it!

Instead of trying to resolve the healthcare issue, once and for all, Congress decided to be reckless again and ram through a partisan vote just before Christmas. Frankly, Congress does not know what’s in the bill, not that they are bothering to pretend to even care. All this despite the fact that the majority of Americans do NOT want a government controlled health care system.

The secretive way this bill was produced helped to make it destructively unpopular. Americans now realize that this legislation will permanently expand the entitlement state. Congress’s only intent was to pass anything and try and clean it up later. Why the panic?

This legislation is supposed to reduce healthcare costs. Everyone doubts this. Insurance costs will rise for everyone in small businesses to families. Can we afford it just now in this economy? The truth is that no one really knows how much ObamaCare will actually cost. It won’t be cheap.

Does it eliminate waste? The answer is no. Does it address lawsuits? No again. There is no tort reform in the bill. Does it help or hurt any individual group of citizens. Answer: Yes, it takes $500 billion away from Medicare. Senior citizens pay the brunt to offset the costs of adding new individuals.

A centralized system means fewer choices for all involved. Ironically, Congress is not required to participate. Go figure? It must be really great if they don’t want to participate. So instead of actually solving the healthcare problem, we will have a vast expansion of federal control over our lives. This is a precedent. Never before has economic legislation of this magnitude been forced through on a purely partisan vote. America will be paying for this for decades to come. Merry Christmas!
