Supreme Nomination Hurts Gun Rights

While the National Rifle Association (NRA) and its members are out in the streets celebrating the latest Supreme Court ruling in McDonald vs Chicago, (where the Supreme Court just ruled and overturned Chicago gun ban laws), they better watch what the left hand is doing..

During the Supreme Court confirmation hearings, when asked if she was a Progressive, Elena Kagan did NOT want to really answer the question. AND her previous record towards gun ownership is NOT favorable to those who have guns and would like to keep them legally.

Kagan agrees with Justice Breyer's claim: "I can find nothing in the Second Amendment's text, history, or underlying rationale that could warrant characterizing it as 'fundamental' insofar as it seeks to protect the keeping and bearing of arms for private self-defense purposes."

Apparently neither Kagan or Judge Breyer have read anything our Founding Fathers had to say about bearing arms. Their intent is quite clear.

Thomas Jefferson: "No freeman shall be barred the use of firearms within his own lands."

George Washington: "A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined; to which end a uniform and well-digested plan is a requisite."

Benjamin Franklin: "Were this Union formed, were we once united, thoroughly armed and disciplined were everything in our power done for our security, as far as human means and foresight could provide, we might then, with more propriety, humbly ask the assistance of Heaven and a blessing in our lawful endeavors."

and Franklin on the subject of philosophy of defense...

"Make yourselves sheep, and the wolves will eat you."

Any US Senator who claims to support the 2nd Amendment (right to bear arms), cannot with ANY conscious, vote for Elena Kagan as Supreme Justice.

Action to Take
Contact your US Senators and tell them to vote "NO" on Kagan.
