Free Speech Under Attack - Again!

It may seem unimportant to you but the government is relentlessly trying to squelch free speech once again under Obama's administration. They are coming at it from several directions. Two of the most current and most serious are the following:

  • The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is trying to regulate Internet content
  • .
  • Congess is trying to pass legislation that gives Obama "Absolute Power" to shut-down the Internet when ever he wants to for whatever reason he can make up.

If neither of these things seem to bother you, then there is little hope of reaching you! Obviously, you're a believer that everything the government does is OK and we need more regulations and controls for the betterment of the State. You probably believe in the re-distribution of wealth as an OK proposition. In all likelihood you believe that entitlements are a good thing and no doubt you are getting some or you don't pay taxes. Just continue going along for the ride and see where it ends up. History has many examples of despots, dictators, and totalarianism where free speech is regulated.

For the rest of us, these government activities are RED FLAGS that we take as huge warnings that our freedoms are being attacked. They are warnings that the government is overstepping their power and trying to become something MUCH BIGGER. In this case, the 1st Amendment (free speech) is under attack. Here's how...

The FCC is trying to take control of the Internet and wants to impose the so-called "Drudge Tax." This would put a fee (tax) on any news media like the Drudge Report using the Internet. The Drudge Report does NOT support the Obama administration's Progressive agenda. It breaks news stories that have embarrassed Obama. The regulation would strangle anyone who opposes the government. In turn, the government would take the collected "fees" and give them to the failing Lame Stream newspapers who all support the Obama administration and its political agenda. So in other words, tax those who oppose the administration and reward those who support it. Does that sound fair and equal to you? God, let's hope not!

The second bold attack is coming form Senator Joe Lieberman (I, CT) who has introduced a bill that would give Obama "Absolute Power" to shut-down the Internet whenever Homeland Security deems it necessary. Lieberman has been trying to control the Internet for years under the guise of "cybersecurity." Apparently Lieberman and his cronies paid attention to the affect the Internet had on the uprising in Iran over their bogus elections. Our government does not want that to happen here because it damages Obama's agenda. That's what I call free speech!

Action To Take
Contact your Senators and Congressmen and tell them emphatically that this ATTACKS the 1st Amendment.
