The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) alias, the Obama administration, is looking for ways to bailout America's failing newspapers. Possible proposed solutions include stronger copyright protection, charity (the government decides with YOUR tax dollars), taxing the Drudge Report (and other web sites like it), and subsidies. You should observe that they have avoided the use of the word "Bailout" in their protection schemes. But with a close analysis, that's EXACTLY what their programs are suggesting.
In case you are not aware, all of the major newspapers and media outlets in this country are biased towards the policies of this current administration. They actually supported Obama's election and probably increased his chances by several percentage points because of their favorable coverage. The worst is NBC which is owned by General Electric. You remember, Jeff Immelt (CEO of GE) is on Obama's administrative commission to get more government favors and kickbacks in the green industry.
Now in return, our President wants to give newspapers and some media outlets "payback" in the form of some bogus regulation or legislation that gives them money to save them from collapse. Isn't there supposed to be a Free Press in America? How free will it be if the government controls it? Why are they being deemed "Too Big To Fail"? And more importantly, WHO decides which newspapers and media outlets get the government benefits and which do not? This sounds like a big scheme to reward (bribe) those newspapers and media who helped Obama get elected.
The newspaper business in America is failing because they no longer report the news. Neither does the Lame Stream media! They have become a propaganda arm of the Obama administration. If you don't believe this, try reading the news about America in a Canadian newspaper (or media) or better yet, try reading about American news stories in a British newspaper or from their media online. You will discover that the news is quite different than the crap you are being fed here.
Action To Take
Tell your representatives (if they will listen) that you want no more Bailouts - especially news outlets or newspapers.
