Fairness of US Elections

Just Where Do We Stand?
According to Rasmussen, 55% of Americans believe that incumbents get re-elected because the rules are "rigged" in their favor. Not too hard to believe since Congress makes the rules! Voters also believe that Congress's job approval has NOTHING to do with their re-election.

Only 15% of voters actually believe that Congress incumbents get re-elected because they do a "good" job representing their constituents. Wow, Homer Simpson must be one of them! Only 21% of voters think that the Federal government has the consent of the governed. 17% Are not sure and a whopping 62% say that the government does not have that consent as outlined in the Declaration of Independence.

New Book To Explain These Numbers
Rasmussen has written a book titled "Mad as Hell - How the Tea Party movement is fundamentally remaking our two party system."
