Fort Hood – The New 911

Americans were shocked into the first terrorist attack on American soil since the 911 atrocities. Wait, we're NOT supposed to call it a terrorist attack. There is NO war on terror. The President is on the record for saying "… I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts.

Oh really? Why the political correctness here? Don't we know enough to be able to call a deliberate mass execution what it was?

What Do We Know?
Here's what we know today:

  • Major Nidal Malik Husan bought two handguns and several hundred rounds of ammunition prior to the event. Doesn't this show planning?
  • Husan gave away all of his worldly possessions just before the attacks – including his copy of the Koran. Why would a religious person do this?
  • Husan closed down his apartment just before the shootings. Sounds like he was planning on leaving and NOT coming back. He wasn't due to be shipped-out for several weeks! Did he know he would never be back?
  • Husan is on the record for being disgruntled and complaining about the war in Iraq and Afghanistan while extolling the religious virtues of radical Islamic bombings. He told friends he couldn't kill fellow Muslims. (Remember, he's a psychiatrist – not a foot soldier). Would he have to kill anyone as a psychiatrist? Was that his function?
  • Husan counseled returning vets about the "infidels" that should be murdered and gave arguments against the war. Walter Reid gave him a POOR work review because of his bad performance with the troops.

So this week he entered an area in Fort Hood that contained a large number of unarmed people in a dense concentration and began shooting innocent unarmed victims.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and shoots like a duck, it's a terrorist. Skip the political correctness crap. This was deliberate cold-blooded murder by Major Nidal Malik Husan, a terrorist.

Heroes to the Rescue
Lucky for an unimaginable number of potential victims that Sergeant Kimberly Munley and her partner Sergeant Mark Todd were on duty directing traffic that day. They prevented countless more deaths and injuries because of their fast actions and response to this threat.

It is yet to be determined if both officers shot Husan, but it is reported that Munley traded gunfire with the assassin, both striking each other. This prevented Husan from inflicting more death and destruction to the large crowd.

One thing for sure, Sgt. Munley is a Heroine. Thank you for your service. We also give our deepest condolences to the surviving friends and families of the innocent victims of this tragedy.
