The TRUTH About Unemployment

Don't Make False Assumptions
When the government publishes the monthly unemployment numbers, they tend to be misleading because President Obama wants to be re-elected. He needs to show voters that the economy is getting better under his policies. He needs to show voters that his regulations and new laws are making things better.

The Reality
Well America, they're not getting better. April's unemployment number "dropped" from 8.2% to 8.1%. This is true. But what the Obama administration omits telling you is that this drop wasn't because of the new jobs created in the economy. No, the drop was created by those people who stopped looking for work and are no longer counted in the government statistics. The unemployment number went down in April because of all the people who dropped-out of the workforce. Actual numbers of people NOT working is in the MILLIONS!

In April over 340,000 people gave up looking for work. The government stops counting them and hence, the unemployment number looks pretty good. But the reality is that the true unemployment number (people out of work who want to work but have stopped looking), plus the number of people still on the books being counted is approximately 16 to 17% at a minimum!

Consider This
If you still want to believe that the government statistics don't lie, then you should ask yourself why the numbers of Americans receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) has soared. People receiving SSDI are not counted as unemployed either! It's no coincidence that this is happening if you look again at government statistics and see the correlation between SSDI and unemployment benefits.

When the unemployment benefits and the extensions ran-out, the number of SSDI claims rose by over 22%. That figure represents one quarter of the labor force participation rate for the time period.

An increase in SSDI rates and and increase in public supported relief programs helps to lower the government-published unemployment rates each month. This does NOT mean that the economy is getting better. In fact, it's just the opposite!

The Bottom Line
After three years of seeing a doubling of gas prices, declining personal incomes, record numbers of foreclosures, and 36+ months of record unemployment, Americans know they’re not better off than they were four years ago.

Don't re-elect Obama. His record IS the reason not to!

Tell your family and friends about the REAL facts about the unemployment numbers. They are NOT representative of the REAL number of people out of work in America!
