Your Congress At Work - AGAIN!

President Obama thinks that putting a sales tax on all Internet sales is a good thing. So naturally, the Democrats jump on board with his idea. Traditional brick-and-mortar companies have been strongly lobbying for just such a law. They have spent millions of dollars trying to get this legislation. Senate leader Harry Reid (D, NV) has a bill that does just that. It's called "The Marketplace Fairness Act." REALLY? What's so fair about that?

Right now you only pay sales tax on Internet sales if the company you buy from is located in your state. This new legislation negates that and taxes ALL Internet sales no matter where the company or entity is located. This is a major blow to Internet shoppers who do so to avoid, (and save), paying state sales taxes. Unfortunately, now the Obama government wants a piece of the action. Why aren't states complaining? The federal government will get all these revenues!

It doesn't stop there. We bet you haven't heart of CISPA (Cyber Intelligence Sharing Protection Act). This is the government's idea of "protecting" businesses from those nasty hackers. What it does is allows the government to gain more control over the Internet and supposedly offer "protection" in return. REALLY? ANY law that gives the government more control over businesses is a BAD IDEA!

We all know that when someone comes to your door and says "Hi, I'm from the government and I'm here to help you" you'd better run! YOU CANNOT TRUST THIS GOVERNMENT ANY LONGER!

There's more… 82 year old Senator Frank Lautenberg (D, NJ), has re-introduced his bill called "The Explosive Materials Background Check Act." This bill requires a background check to purchase ANY size quantity of black powder, smokeless powder, or any other explosive. Typically people who reload cartridges purchase anywhere from one pound to eight pounds of these materials at a time. They are being punished. The bill also makes it ILLEGAL to manufacturer ANY explosives without a permit. This bill affects those sportsmen who reload ammunition. It is aimed at law-abiding citizens and does nothing to prevent CRIMINALS from buying whatever they want.

The perfect example is the Boston Bombers. They ILLEGALLY purchased handguns and rifles from the black market. They had no "Background Checks" imposed on them. The same thing would happen if they wanted to purchase explosives. This law ignores the fact that anyone buying "explosives" already must provide name, address, phone number, and provide written reasons for these purchases. This includes the purchase of fertilizers.

This law is just a bogus attempt to stop citizens from the sport of reloading, trap and skeet shooting, and from hunting.

Action To Take
Contact your representatives and tell them to get a life and vote "NO" on all these freedom-STEALING laws.
